**About the Role**

The Collections & Archive Team, located within the Library and Learning Services Department, are responsible for the procurement and management of print and digital resources to support learning and research across the University and the Edge Hill University Archive.

We are looking for a qualified Archivist to join the team to undertake the cataloguing of two extraordinary and exciting new archive collections recently acquired by Edge Hill University so that we can make them fully available to the University and to wider audiences. The two collections relate to the Liverpool based film production company Hurricane Films and the personal and professional life of the critically acclaimed late film director Terence Davies. The Hurricane Film collection which is on permanent loan to Edge Hill Archives includes a mixture of business records, promotional materials, film production documents, as well as films, tapes, and photographs of the company’s work. The Terences Davies collection consists of drafts and rewrites of screenplays, detailed production notes, location recess, casting notes, shooting scripts and production design artwork, as well as prose and poetry and Davies’ personal correspondence.

As Project Cataloguing Archivist your main role will be to organise, review, prioritise and catalogue the two collections to optimise their discoverability, visibility, and accessibility. You will use the university’s collections management software, Epexio, to catalogue material to the publicly available online catalogue, oversee related digitization activity and contribute towards a range of activity to help promote the collections to both internal and external audiences. For the duration of the project, you will work alongside the University Archivist to supervise and provide direction to Senior Information Assistants and student volunteers working in the archive, as well as responding to internal and external enquiries and requests relating to the collections.

**About You**

As Project Cataloguing Archivist you will:

- Have experience of working with and preserving archive collections in a range of formats
- Be highly motivated and comfortable working independently as well as part of the wider team and department
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain working relationships at all levels
- Have a demonstrable interested in British cinema and filmmaking
