**Salary**: £36,000 - £40,000 - Depending on experience and skills

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Our Senior Commercial Officers take a leading role on the commercial aspects of proposals, negotiate with customers, and manage complex contracts in line with established policies and requirements
- Commercial professionals at this grade are responsible for interpreting and communicating customer requirements, identifying, and mitigating risk and assessing opportunity, supporting the business to manage change and deliver upon its financial commitments
- An awareness of the aspects of the Law that affect the activities of the business, familiarity with typical internal governance requirements and experience of a variety of contract/agreement types is valuable
- All our Commercial roles include a high-level of interaction with external stakeholders, and as such we represent BAE Systems in a variety of business settings around the world. We look for our Commercial professionals to be available to travel and be able to adapt to increasingly complex and dynamic situations

**Your skills and experiences**:

- An awareness of the aspects of the Law that affect the activities of the business
- Familiarity with typical internal governance requirements
- Experience of contract/agreement types
- Experience preparing quotations and detailed agreements
- Negotiation of proposals with potential customers and ensuring that this results in acceptable business agreements and contracts
- Agreeing acceptable business agreements and contracts
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- High degree of customer focus and a commitment to meet deadlines and targets
- Ability to work unsupervised and provide solutions for management consideration
