An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, professional Accounts Clerk or Bookkeeper to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks at a busy Motorcycle Dealership, on a Part Time basis, the position will initially be on Temporary basis, however there may be scope for the post to become permanent. The envisioned hours are 09.00 to 15.30 hours, Tuesday to Friday (with 30 minutes for lunch each day)

You should be confident producing the Monthly Management Accounts for the Directors as well as processing Supplier invoices and Sales debt allocation.

Working closely with the Dealer Management System (DMS) and Sage software to ensure that all transactions are accurate, Obtaining reports from the DMS to ensure that Sage journal entries and the DMS are balanced.

You will be confident to liaise with our Company Accountants and HMRC regarding the end of year financial accounts and Corporation Tax. In addition you will be able to Prepare the VAT as required. Balance this report in the Dealer Management System (DMS) quarterly and submit via the DMS as necessary using “Making Tax Digital” software.

Previous or present experience in in an accounting / bookkeeping role is essential as you will be an integral part of the Streetbike team on a daily basis. Experience working in a motorcycle or automotive retail environment is desirable though not essential.

**Responsibilities**:

- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Work closely with the Dealer Management System (DMS) and Sage to ensure that all transactions are accurate.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepanciesObtain reports from the DMS and ensure that Sage journal entries and the DMS are balanced.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Complete a weekly profit and loss spreadsheet.
- Issue reports and accounts to each of the Directors on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that all figures for payroll are accurate, obtain details of any absence, payroll changes etc and run the payroll on a monthly basis using Sage Business Cloud Accounting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data in accounting software (Sage)
- Liaise with Company Accountants assisting with the end of year financial process, Corporation Tax and HMRC.
- Report to Accountants as required.Reconcile the VAT as required for payment to HMRC. Balance this report in the Dealer Management System (DMS) quarterly and submit via the DMS as necessary using “Making Tax Digital” software.

Additional Duties:

- Liaise with the Goods In Operative to obtain information on Supplier invoices. Process authorised invoices from all departments as necessary, seeking authorisation where required.
- Monitor customer invoices, working closely with the Sales and Sales Admin. to ensure that the paperwork is accurate and that customer payments are made.
- Monitor the stock records of Motorcycles and liaise with the Directors.
- Undertake the Daily Takings ensuring that all payments taken and refunds given by department balance with the DMS Sales Ledger.
- Sales debt allocation (Clear down debtors).

Person Specification / Experience:

- Previous experience as an Account Clerk or similar role
- Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel etc.)
- Strong understanding of accounts payable / receivable processes and procedures
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Previous experience using a Dealer Management System (DMS) Tru Trac Pyramid, Platinum Catalyst or similar, would be a distinct advantage.
