**Job Purpose**

Plant & Bean is a rapidly growing manufacturer of plant based meat. We are looking to grow our team and are now recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join the team in the team to cover our fixed night shift.

This is a key role to support production and as we recruit new staff and develop our teams. Initially they will run a small night shift, as the factory starts production in Boston, responsible for some production duties and hygiene activities.

The role will be based at our new site in Boston, Lincolnshire.

**Key Accountabilities**
- First and foremost, you will ensure that your line operates in a safe and tidy working environment, in accordance with the company quality and safety standards.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the nightly clean downs are carried out safely, in accordance with the cleaning cards and SOP’s.
- You will ensure that the daily, weekly, monthly and 6 monthly cleans are carried out to schedule.
- You will conduct monthly cleaning audits.
- You will be responsible for monitoring productivity and quality on your line, ensuring that the final product meets the client’s specifications and the planned volume/commercial targets.
- Your team should maximise production efficiencies to ensure that plans are met on an hourly/daily basis.
- You will set up production lines and assign staff for production line tasks ensuring that the team is rotated regularly.
- You should have an aptitude for problem solving, as you will look to resolve issues on the line, inline within your experience and qualification, referring more issues outside the scope of your knowledge to the appropriate department.
- You will ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping practices are strictly adhered to so that all areas comply with hygiene audits, both internal and external.
- You will ensure that paperwork and SAP requirements are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures.
- You will provide feedback regarding agency workers to the HR Team/Agency team.
- You will attend the team leader meetings, support other team leaders and provide both verbal and documented shift handovers as required.
- You will raise concerns if you feel any additional cleaning should be scheduled.
- You will act as a champion for best practice.
- You will monitor and ensure your team minimises waste.
- You will play an active part in continuous improvement across the site and should have experience of short interval control, 5S (Lean Manufacturing Methodology) and PDCA (Plan/Do/Check/Act).
- Team leaders management duties may include conducting return to work interviews, appraisals for your team and with the support of the HR team you may be required to support with disciplinary or grievance matters.
- There will be opportunities to get involved in different projects and duties in line with the scope and grade of your role as the site develops.
- You will work closely with the company trainer to support the induction of new starters and provide on the job training to your team.

**Qualifications/Experience/Attributes**
- You will be highly organised, with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workloads efficiently.
- Previous experience working within a fast paced food manufacturing environment and operating machines is essential. You will also have experience of undertaking cleaning any hygiene activities.
- You will ideally hold IOSH, HACCP, First Aid and Food Safety Qualifications.
- Critical for us is your enthusiasm, customer service driven attitude and ability to multi-task.
- Communication is a key part of this role so excellent written and verbal skills will be required alongside a high level of attention to detail.
- You will be enthusiastic and conscientious and have a proactive approach to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- You should have a flexible approach towards your hours, whilst we anticipate you will be a permanent night shift, there may be times when support is required outside this shift patterns.
- The roles involves wearing personal protective equipment and working in a factory environment.
- You should be keen to drive your own personal development through training and work based experience.
- You should be resourceful and able to work independently.
