Electrical Team Lead

The purpose of the Electrical Team Lead is to guide, lead and mentor an Electrical team to ensure high standards of electrical scopes at MDL.
**Key Tasks**
1. Organise and delegate to the team of Electrical personnel.
2. Support the design, improve and modify electrics of MDL machines - Tensioners, HPU’s, Reel Drives
3. Diagnosing faults and inspect work in progress and upon completion.
4. Repair equipment when necessary and inspect work for satisfactory performance.
5. Participate and provide on the job training to team.
6. Review with the Supervisors suitable stocks of supplies and equipment and request specialist components, fixtures or fitting as required.
7. Support Engineering Team in answering technical qualifications from the Sales and BD team.
8. Build maintenance schedules for the technicians in area and make sure these are followed and up to date.
9. Check reports from team members and ensure final sign off.
10. Recognise issues and assess risks and review any finding with management.
11. Participate in internal and external meetings as requested.
12. Championing ‘One Team MDL’ approach and acting as an MDL ambassador.
**Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
1. To follow the process of continuous improvement and to demonstrate a continuous improvement approach towards all processes, products and tasks within their role, to maintain and report key performance indicators, and to act as required to ensure agreed performance standards and expectations are achieved or excelled.
2. To show commitment to HSEQ and to set good personal examples on HSEQ issues within their area of operation and influence. Required to report all accidents and near misses to their line manager, and to always lead by example and set high standards in all aspects of their role.
3. To actively participate in all aspects of HSEQ awareness, education, training and communication. Accountable for stopping a job if perceived that it is not safe to progress for personnel or the equipment/ product, or if not adhering to MDL standards or procedures.
4. To encourage the team to challenge internal and external processes, procedures and methodologies to improve the MDL offering.
5. To actively encourage innovation within the team, driving ideas form back-deck operations through the organisation.
6. To maintain good relationships with clients and other stakeholders as well as to act as an MDL ambassador at all times.
**Qualifications, Experience and Skills**
1. Level 3 SVQ or SECCT Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation or HNC in Electrical Engineering.
2. +5 years’ experience working in an electrical discipline.
3. Must be able to understand electrical schematic drawings.
4. Experience of managing direct reports (preferable)
5. Knowledge of following processes and procedures of a business
**Work Location**
Work is primarily in the UK office in Cove, Aberdeen with travel as required to other MDL and client locations.
Please note that although the primary location will be Cove in the long term, our operations site has not yet made the transition to our new HQ so applicants would be expected to commute to our Peterhead site until this is complete.
