Technical Author - Rickmansworth £35k-£40k
The Technical Author role works within the R&D team to head up documentation on all products, new solutions and customer facing documents. The role has responsibility for user guides, specification documents, internal wikis and any other areas which needdocumenting.
The role repots to the Head of Product Engineering but works with the entire R&D team including software, firmware, electronics, and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical document writing, editing, and proofreading
- User guide writing, editing, and proofreading
- Technical wiki update and creation
- Document review and feedback
- Bid responses requiring technical input
- Great communicator able to talk to technical individuals
- Self-motivated to understand solutions to be able to document them
Essential Skills
- Excellent written skills in English
- Excellent document layout skills
- Document management skills
- Good understanding of technical system including:
- Web based solutions
- Hardware (such as IOT devices)
Useful Skills
- Basic graphics design knowledge
- SharePoint updating
- Online Wiki updating
- GPS IOT devices
- SQL or database experience
- Jasper Server or other reporting services
- Ability to read and follow programming languages (PHP, C)
Education / Qualifications / Certifications
No specific qualifications are required, however some form of technical degree or qualification would be a benefit.
