Dog Daycare Assistant

Maternity cover from may/June and casual work beforehand.

What are the hours?

This is a zero hour, casual position so the hours are unknown at the moment.

You will need to be fully flexible Monday to Friday though incase you are needed.

This position is to cover holidays and sick days as well as covering shifts every week from when Trina leaves for maternity.

What does the job entail?

Maintenance and cleaning of all the indoor arenas, reception, play equipment, kitchen and first aid rooms and other areas of the facility.

Supervision, control and management of all dogs in daycare and ensuring their safety.

Cleaning up after the dogs constantly.

Feeding and general care of the dogs.

Admin and customer work.

Social Media.

Opening and closing procedures.

Basic knowledge of dog behaviour, dog breeds and dog first aid. Health checking the dogs in daycare.

Money handling.

Dog handling.

And much more

What is the cons?

This is an amazing job but it is not all cuddling dogs all day unfortunately. It is a very physically challenging job. With long hours and lots of noise. It is also with lots of different dog breeds and dog temperaments, you will need to learn how to handle each dog individually.

Could this lead to a permanent job?

Unfortunately at this moment in time we are unable to say whether this will lead to permanent work or not. This position will be for at least 8-12 months. We are currently in the process of potentially opening up a larger daycare when this happens we will be needed more permanent staff but this will be spoken about more once it is fully confirmed.

What do you need to be considered for this position?

Fully flexible and punctual.

Basic knowledge of dog body language and dog behaviour.

Willing to learn.

Can be available Monday to Friday 7am till 6:30pm
