Technical Manager | £Negotiable | North Lincs | Full Time, Perm
**Your new role**
A new and exciting opportunity as Technical Manager has arisen within the Northern Lincolnshire regions. Acting as technical lead on day-to-day process, technical and quality issues you will be responsible for ensuring that all products are compliant with legaland customer specifications. You will also become the owner and signatory for the test certification process - and take ownership of the area quality management system.
Customer support activities are a key part of the role, including complaint management, achieving, and maintaining specific key customer approvals for some of the businesses biggest customers, working with the commercial team vetting customer enquiries - andbuilding strong technical relationships to influence customer decisions, such as when to use our premium products. Some travel, including overseas, may be required from time to time.
You will support the introduction of new products and processes whilst representing the business to external organisations, including customers on key technical issues.
Providing knowledge and expertise of products and processes to Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Operations and Testing Solutions you will manage systems to ensure customer orders translate to correct processing outputs.
Appropriate technical knowledge is crucial to the success of the team and you need to ensure that technical competence is developed whilst setting behavioural standards. You will also be involved in the preparation and delivery of technical training.
**What you'll need to succeed**
You will be a degree qualified technical professional. A materials or physical science degree is preferred although relevant experience will also be taken into account.
Ideally you should have a clear interest or have experience in technical activities associated with steel processing and/or development. Knowledge of QA systems and strong communications skills, including reporting, would be a distinct advantage and you shouldhave a strong customer focus. You need to be capable of taking responsibility and initiative as well as being enthusiastic and self-motivated.
