**Fund Trainee (Operations)**

**Salary - £22,369 - £24,054 (Grade 4)**

**Hours - 37 hours**

**Contract - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract**

This is an exciting opportunity which would ideally suit students looking for a placement year. WMPF are keen to offer the opportunity of a one-year placement for students in Operations

The Fund is one of the UK’s largest pension funds providing, from it’s ‘state of the art’ new building at i9 in Wolverhampton, local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands. The Fund manages and administers the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently has over £20 billion in assets under management.

As a fund trainee you will work in a specialist area within the Fund and be responsible for the following duties:

- To provide dedicated support in the delivery of the Fund and Service area priorities, implementing agreed objectives, performance monitoring, reviewing and reporting progress and ensuring all timescales are adhered to.
- To contribute ideas and innovative solutions throughout the placement including writing reports and making presentations to individuals and groups.
- To support the development, design and implementation of projects and support programmes. engaging with appropriate stakeholders and meeting set objectives and deadlines.
- To assist with the formulation and drafting of effective policies, proposals and plans in support of the Fund’s strategic objectives.

**Our working arrangements**

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
