First Aider

This role is school-based and is required for Term Time Only plus 5 days to be worked in the School Holidays. The FTE Salary of £20,252 is pro rata.

**Main Purpose of Job**

To be CSIA’s first aid provision: providing a first aid service and supporting the wider health care initiatives within the Trust.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide first aid support to students, staff and visitors in case of injury or illness
- Support healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities and distribute relevant information to the School First Aiders as appropriate
- Participate in PSHE - supporting student education for healthy habits, such as nutrition and hygiene
- Recording of medical incidents or injuries, ensuring that parents are informed
- Update accurately student medical records on SIMS, as appropriate, ensuring relevant members of staff are advised as necessary.
- Oversee processes and procedures relating to administering of medicines.
- Manage first aid training schedules and maintain a rota of first aid staff to ensure the school has adequate cover
- Oversee all first aid related processes as per CSIA’s internal systems, ensuring first aid boxes around the school are checked and replenished accordingly.

**General**
- Ensure confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
- Be responsible for your own continuing self-development, undertaking training as appropriate.
