The Midwifery Service at Swansea Bay has ambitious plans for its future. The service is embarking on a transformation programme centred upon the development and opportunities for its maternity workforce, promoting service improvements through prevention, safety, learning and quality, improving women’s choice and the personalisation of care.

We are looking for an Head of Midwifery who can harness their talent and expertise to transform these ambitions into a sustainable, inspiring and achievable reality.

The Head of Midwifery will be a dynamic, experienced clinical leader supporting the Midwifery team in driving the service changes and shaping the direction of our services.

The Swansea Bay University Health Board Midwifery service is comprised of over 160 staff which supports women, pregnant people and new born babies across West Wales through Community Midwifery teams, dedicated Birth and Obstetric Units and Community based Clinics.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
