Purchase Ledger Clerk/ Finance Assistant

Looking for a full time Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our growing SME construction business in York

We're seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual who can take on the responsibility of managing our purchase ledger working as part of a wider team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions. As a full-time position, we offer flexible working hours to accommodate your schedule and work-life balance.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Processing supplier invoices accurately and timely, ensuring all transactions are coded correctly.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Processing payments and managing cash flow
- Assisting with payroll and helping the wider team where and when needed
- Providing excellent customer service to suppliers and internal stakeholders

About you:

- Previous experience in a similar purchase ledger role
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage their workload effectively.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Enjoy working as part of a wider team in an inclusive culture.
