The largest business in the Group is Munnelly Support services (MSSL), a market leader in logistics and waste management services across the construction sector who prides itself on maintaining long term relationships with blue chip construction clients including main contractors, residential developers and large-scale infrastructure projects.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Logistics Director to join the team.

**Job Purpose**:
The Construction Logistics Director will play a key part in the Construction Logistics Team and will oversee and manage the construction operations of Munnelly Support Services. You will take overall responsibility for all matters affecting the Business, set strategy and policy and be responsible for developing and implementing specific policies/procedures covering all the business operations, taking regard of health and safety, quality, and the environment.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Manage and oversee the planning, coordination and execution of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets and quality standards.
- Translate project construction logistics materials requirements into effective construction logistics plans that comply with the Client’s construction logistics strategy.
- Managing the preparation and provision of construction materials logistics reporting information to the Construction Logistics Team, 3rd Party Logistics Partner and wider Client organisation.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise construction operations which include streamlining processes, improving productivity and reducing costs.
- Ensure adequate arrangements exist for effective risk assessments
- Be responsible for ensuring adequate records are kept for staff concerning safety issues such as safe working hours, competence, certificates etc.
- Provide effective leadership and guidance to the construction operations team
- Foster strong working relationships with clients and project teams
- Seek out new tender opportunities
- Manage and allocate resources efficiently including labour, equipment and materials
- Identify areas for improvement within the construction operations process and develop and implement strategies to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Establish and enforce quality control standards
- Improve commercial effectiveness on projects and work alongside the commercial team ensuring projects run closely with their profitability and targets

**Person Specification**:
**Essential**
- Knowledge of relevant geography and network capability.
- Knowledge of Link up and Company Management System.
- Able to integrate new orders in the Company Management System.
- Able to work under pressure
- Good communication skills and a customer focussed approach.

**Other skills**:

- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry with a focus on construction operations and logistics.
- In-depth knowledge of construction management principles, project planning and execution.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
