We are looking to for a Pharmacy assistant to join our Dispensary team at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Labelling, dispensing and issuing medication to patients. Supporting pharmacy staff working within the dispensary and whilst on wards. Undertaking reception duties, dealing with healthcare staff and patients, ensuring the dispensary is well stocked and a safe working environment is maintained.

Duties are varied and will include providing customer care at the pharmacy reception, labelling and dispensing prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients across a wide range of specialities. You should have good communication and interpersonal skills: be motivated, flexible, adaptable and able to work well in an environment of change and transition. You will be expected to develop good working relationships with other staff within the pharmacy and the hospital.

The post holder will be required to train to NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services through our in house training programme. You will need to have an eye for detail and the ability to adapt to new situations, be hard working, reliable and keen to learn.

You will need to have a good standard of education and GCSE's at grade C or above in Maths and English.
