MMP Consultancy is looking to recruit a Disrepair Coordinator to join a local authority based in London on a temporary contract.

We are seeking an experienced professional who possesses experience working with escalated repair cases.The Disrepair Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out various duties involved with managing the caseload of claims under the Housing Disrepair Protocol, The Environmental Protection Act and the Homes (Fit for Human Habitation) Act.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for receiving and logrepair-relatedr related litigation claims received from extern,al bodies including solicitors and Local Authorities.
- Required to act within timescales specified within the Acts and will be responsible for managing all cases through the process including Disclosure of documents
- Arranging survey inspections and negotiating settlement on costs and damages.
- Where necessary, instruct appointed Legal representatives and liaise with them if cases are progressed through the Court system.
- Work closely with the team's Disrepair surveyor and appointed contractors to ensure agreed works are completed within specified timescales, this may involve conducting visits to properties where a claim has been made.
- Manage the caseload of all claims received against the organisation
- Responsible for collating all paperwork relating to legal claims for Disrepair
- Review all file case records and repair histories to enable the drafting of complex replies to claims received
- Liaise and communicate with external bodies and negotiate the settlement of cases
- Previous experience of working in building repairs and maintenance, preferably within legal disrepair
- An effective communicator at all levels, you will be able to work proactively and independently
- Strong knowledge of Section 11 of the Housing Law
- Experience in incident and problem-solving environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other internal systems
