**Head of PSHE**

Reporting to: Pastoral AHT

Responsible for

The PSHE curriculum to include the statutory RSE element, aspects of the form time programme, and specific drop down days related to PSHE and RSE.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**

b) Monitoring and evaluation of progress towards departmental targets within the context of the School Development Plan and self-evaluation.

c) Develop exciting and engaging curriculum plans and assessment activities across the department that meets the needs of all learners, in the year groups timetabled, allowing pupils to thrive while also embedding their literacy and numeracy skills.

d) Manage the department with regards to monitoring, evaluation and support, working within and supporting the schools performance management framework

e) To ensure the school is compliant in delivering the RSE curriculum as outlined by the DfE

f) Plan the PSHE Form time curriculum, providing resources for Form Tutors to assist in the delivery of Form Time PSHE sessions and monitoring the quality of this delivery.

g) Plan and run drop down days for key Year groups that cover essential areas of the RSE curriculum, co-ordinating with local agencies and external speakers to provide sessions for students.

h) Identify areas of concern in specific Year groups and plan sessions to address these concerns.

i) Be knowledgeable and confident to be able to generate materials for students based on sensitive topics including puberty, consent, and the influence of alcohol.

Under the overall direction of the Headteacher.

**Salary**: £3,015.00-£3,017.00 per year
