**Mechanical Estimator / Senior Mechanical Estimator**

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Estimator or Senior Mechanical Estimator to join an established and highly respected M&E Building Services contractor based in Central London.

The company provide Mechanical and Electrical services from design through to supply, installation and commissioning and work across various sectors, including, Commercial fit out, Data Centres, Banking, Retail and Leisure, and High End Residential, with typical project values ranging from £1m up to £15m.

A minimum of 7 years Mechanical Estimating experience is required.

**Mechanical Estimator / Senior Mechanical Estimator - Key Activities include**:

- Tender pricing - respond to tender queries, prepare and submit competitive tender packages and quotations in accordance with the clients' requirements
- Job costing - calculate the price of time, labour and materials for bespoke contracts
- Managing and assisting with the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires for tenders
- Negotiation of effective cost settlements for projects
- Analysis of contract documentation and preparation of accurate sub-contractor packages for pricing, liaising and negotiating with sub-contractors and key suppliers
- Meet with clients as necessary to clarify design requirements and explain basis of estimates to ensure bid proposals meet needs
- Prioritise, manage own workflow and maintain accurate record of tenders submitted
- Arrange sub-contractor enquiry documents to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of estimate
- Determine contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
- Reporting into the Estimating Director

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**:

- You will need to be an experienced Mechanical Estimator (minimum 7 years experience) working within the Building Services sector
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Good computer skills, including Word and Excel
- Effective communication both verbal and written
- Efficient, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work to targets and goals within set guidelines and parameters
- Industry standard Qualifications/Certificates such as, Plumbing and Heating, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC or Building Services
