**The Role**

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed IAG Advisor/Coach. You will be working with prison learners to undertake Inductions, preparing and reviewing Digital Personal Learning Plans, helping to allocate learners to right educational courses and prison jobs, undertaking employability workshops, supporting careers fairs, the work of the Employment Hub and helping prisoners prepare well for jobs/apprenticeships in the community, upon release. We will expect the IAG Advisors to work to high quality standards set out in the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework. We are looking for someone who will go above and beyond and deliver a high quality IAG Service.

**What are we looking for?**

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, go getting and very practical individual who are committed to providing high quality independent and impartial IAG and Careers Advice. This must in accordance with the Matrix Standards, as well as the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework. We want people who genuinely care about the people they are supporting and not just going through the motions or ticking a box.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Manage a caseload of customers with complex needs requiring intensive person-centred support.
- Provide advice guidance and support to overcome barriers to social inclusion and signpost to internal and external support:

- Mentoring with Volunteers or more specific support from external agencies e.g. housing, substance use or mental health.
- Development of customer action plan post referral, updating and developing whilst addressing barriers
- To ensure the accurate and timely recording of input client data and information in order that the service operates within contractual, administrative and financial requirements
- Carry out triage, risk assessments, risk management plans and comprehensive assessments, and to contribute to the development of individual community recovery plans with those who express a wish to access community treatment/support services
- To ensure effective case management and coordination covering areas of risk with a particular focus on safeguarding children and adults, problematic behaviour, housing, social and family functioning, employability, psychological and physical health
- Utilise motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural techniques and brief interventions in both one-to-one and group settings to promote engagement in appropriate services, encourage self-esteem, wellbeing, self-responsibility and enhanced motivation.
- Review on going care and treatment liaising closely with the full range of specialist workers within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Work in partnership with other agencies and carry out joint key working to enable effective engagement and movement in order to promote rehabilitation.
- Recognise personal and professional boundaries and work within our & CRI’s governance frameworks at all times.
- Ensure that all data requirements are met within defined deadlines and work with the CRI management team to ensure that outcomes are being achieved.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Experience in providing careers advice/IAG services on a one to one and group work setting
- Experience of working in prisons and working with HMPS and other external providers e.g. JCP
- Experience of working to targets and quality standards in the skills, education or employability sector
- Motivating, inspiring and enthusing clients/learners to progress in life
- The ability to multitask and manage a diverse case load of clients or learners
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Good working knowledge of the Matrix Standard, Ofsted EIF
- A tenacious approach and an understanding of how employers recruit and select based on talent
- Good administration, IT and organisational skills with good experience of using MS office software and management information systems e.g. NOMIS
