**Main Responsibilities**:

- Leading the architectural and development standards across the insurance business whilst acting collaboratively across the Saga enterprise.
- Function as the lead technical interface for technical delivery internally and with 3rd party service providers.
- Research and assess external competitors and emerging technology to ensure our team at Saga can consider this as part of shaping our strategy.
- Ownership of highest architectural standards in software delivery, such as reliability, cost, performance and operational excellence.
- Leading and embedding cloud and DevSecOps strategies into the Saga insurance business unit.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams in designing, developing, documenting and delivering solution designs, to agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Active member of the insurance technology leadership team working collaboratively to deliver strategic outcomes and colleague performance and growth.
- Creation & maintenance of architectural strategy, governance and policy ensuring their adoption within the business unit.
- Documenting designs & requirements needed to institute proposed updates.
- Effective Communication skills.

- Stakeholder management experience.
- Performance management.
- Successful track record solutioning, architecting and developing IT and cloud infrastructure.
- Up-to-date understanding of best practices and technologies regarding Information Security and Dev-ops.
- Proven management skills in various delivery environments using agile methodologies.
- Strong technical background with proven experience.
- Strong experience in software engineering and design architecture.
- Good education background ideally to a degree level.
