Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform a variety of hairstyling services, specializing in Afro-textured hair, including but not limited to braiding, weaving, twisting, and natural hair care.

2. Consult with clients to understand their hair care needs, preferences, and desired styles.

3. Provide expert advice on hair care routines, products, and maintenance to promote healthy hair.

4. Create and execute intricate and innovative hairstyling designs based on clients' requests and current trends.

5. Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly sanitized.

6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and product knowledge to consistently deliver high-quality services.

7. Educate clients about proper hair care practices and recommend appropriate products for at-home maintenance.

8. Collaborate with other salon team members to create a positive and welcoming environment for clients.

9. Handle customer inquiries, appointments, and bookings in a professional and courteous manner.

10. Manage time efficiently to accommodate multiple clients and appointments throughout the day.

11. Uphold salon policies and standards, including hygiene and safety protocols.

12. Attend workshops, training sessions, and seminars to enhance skills and stay current in the field.

13. Provide excellent customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering lasting relationships.

**Qualifications**:
1. Proven experience as an Afro Hairstylist, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of hairstyling techniques.

2. In-depth knowledge of Afro-textured hair care, including braiding, weaving, natural hair care, and other specialized techniques.

3. Proficiency in using hairstyling tools and equipment, including irons, combs, brushes, and hairdryers.

4. Creative and artistic mindset, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for staying updated on industry trends.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen to clients' needs and provide expert recommendations.

6. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively to meet appointment schedules.

7. Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, approachable demeanor.

8. Certification or formal training in hairstyling from a recognized institution is preferred.

9. Knowledge of different hair types, textures, and suitable products for different needs.

10. A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment and adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.

**Job Type**: Freelance

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour

Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Croydon, Greater London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- stylist: 1 year (preferred)
- Hairdressing: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Hairdressing NVQ/SVQ Level 2 (preferred)
