Job Description Summary

The Institute for Law & Economics is a leading center for corporate law, governance, business, and finance. Housed in the Law School, it reflects collaboration between Penn Carey Law, the Wharton School, and the Department of Economics. Through its programming and the scholarship of its faculty directors, ILE contributes significantly to policy and practice on important issues that affect business and financial institutions world-wide.

The Program Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director of ILE and Institute faculty Co-Directors to implement a rich agenda of programming and collaborates across departments (Conferences and Events, Faculty Support, Communications, Development and Alumni Relations) to ensure administrative excellence and strong communication around ILE activities and faculty scholarship.

This is a part-time position, expecting 15-20 hours/week throughout the academic year, with some weeks requiring more time on site given events and conferences, and most of June and July off. The work is hybrid eligible with the opportunity for remote work.

**Job Description**:
The Program Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

- Event Administration_
- Implement a host of ILE programs, symposia, and conferences.
- Assume leadership role in developing ILE programming including:

- Identifying and arranging participation by speakers and attendees,
- Overseeing the identification of programming structure, timing and logistics.
- Oversee implementation of ILE’s ambitious agenda of programs and activities.
- Ensure the development of strong invitation lists matched to program topic and reach.
- Direct the ILE Program Coordinator around calendaring, invitations, and design and delivery of promotional materials.
- Ensure day-of coverage of all event needs and personally participate in all ILE events.
- Support relationships with ILE Board members as other legal and industry professionals and academics. Facilitate their participation in ILE events. With Conferences and Events, manage travel and reimbursement processes for all guests as appropriate.
- Ensure event wrap up and analysis; develop attendance, budget, and other reports at the conclusion of each event,
- Communications and Development_
- Represent ILE to Board members and other contributors, faculty, students, visitors, and program participants, with an eye to cultivating ILE’s reputation of excellence.
- Collaborate with the Law School’s Communications and Development teams to ensure communication about ILE research and its multi-faceted programming.
- With the Executive Director, ensure regular inclusion of ILE research and programming in Penn Carey Law communications
