I have a new opportunity for a HR officer to join a well-known food manufacturer based in Peterborough. They operate on site, 37 hours a week, with a 3 'O’ Clock finish on a Friday.

Other benefits include private health care, 6% pension and 25 days holiday.

The role will be reporting into the Director of HR and be a key function within the HR team.

Duties include:

- Providing day-to-day support to line management and employees in the implementation of the established HRM policies and practices including disciplinary, grievance and performance management
- Provide pragmatic and risk assessed advice to line managers when supporting them with employee relations cases
- Assisting line management in training needs analysis through performance appraisal and in organising suitable training activities
- Undertaking recruitment and resourcing activities, internal and external, up to but not including senior management appointments
- Assisting with the HR department’s administration tasks in all aspects of the employees lifecycle as required
- Previous broad HR generalist experience
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service
- High level of attention to detail - able to maintain accuracy
- Flexibility and positive "cando" attitude - prepared to do a bit of everything
- Ability to multitask and work within a busy and varied HR environment
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office
- A proven background in dealing with employee relations within a unionised manufacturing environment
- Can demonstrate an awareness and proactive approach to supporting the management of health and safety
