Substance Misuse Recovery Worker

**RECOVERY WORKER**
Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00
Rate - £16-£20 per hour (DOE)
Salary £25,000 - £29,000 (DOE)
The role of a Recovery Coordinator is to manage a user caseload, devising, implementing, and reviewing ongoing recovery plans and treatment, liaising closely with the full range of workers and skills within the service team, including family members and significant others as appropriate. You will has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. You will help set goals in recovery and help the service user achieve their goals in a safe and supportive way.
**Duties include**:
- To improve outcomes for children, parents/carers and families of services users by reducing the impact of drug and alcohol related harm on family life and promote positive family involvement in recovery.
- Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work/ psychosocial interventions that meet local need across both group work and one to one formats.
- Identify and prevent potential harm to service users and others by following local and organisational safeguarding guidelines, including referral to and engagement with relevant safeguarding authorities
- Support delivery of key service functions through actively participating in drug screening.
- You will be responsible for delivering a good quality and safe service to the people you support including assessment and engagement support, case load management, needle syringe programme delivery, harm reduction and interventions.
- Promote visible recovery across the service and ensure peer support opportunities are relevant and accessible for all service users.
**You must**:
- Good understanding of the complex needs experienced by those with a history of problematic alcohol or drug misuse.
- The ability to assess the complex needs of service users; to identify risks and formulate robust risk management plans; to review recovery plans; and to monitor outcomes in partnership with service users.
- Able to manage a high caseload effectively, keeping up to date with appointments and case recording.
- Demonstrates respect for the diversity, culture, values and choices of clients.
- Promotes equal opportunities and challenges discriminatory practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding practice and procedures.
- Proven experience managing your own caseload.
- Experience with Harm Reduction.
**Requirements for the role of Substance Misuse Recovery Coordinator**:
- Recent experience in Substance Misuse, Substance Abuse, Addiction, Drug and Alcohol, Needle Exchange, or Recovery.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications.
- Driving License
