We are looking to recruit a dedicated and flexible Delivery Driver to work within ALAS Posture & Mobility Service which is based in Treforest Industrial Estate.

The role of a Delivery Driver is to provide a safe and reliable delivery service of posture and mobility equipment from the Posture and Mobility Centre (PMC) to patients across South and West Wales. This role also includes the collection of returned equipment to and from patient’s homes / residence. Demonstration of wheelchairs is an important task within this role, as well as simple adjustments of mobility equipment as per instructions.

Experience of using vehicles at work and having direct contact with people is essential. The use of basic tools, and PC knowledge would be an advantage.

Main duties of the role includes;
- To use IT based systems and equipment to deliver and issue stock.
- To dispose of packaging and waste within the waste management system as per department protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in PMC and in work vans with particular reference to Infection Control.
- Day to day cleaning and general care of all equipment and vehicles.
- Loading and unloading of vans.
- To be a full participating member of the ALAS Team with emphasis on liaising with key personnel within the Service, including administrative staff and those outside the service e.g. clients, carers, Therapists, suppliers and manufacturers.
- To have the ability to work with service users and colleagues from diverse cultural and ethical groups, respecting personal beliefs and individuality, promoting individual rights and choice and promoting an anti-discriminatory practice.
- Understand and respect the need for confidentiality regarding service users.
- Maintain the standards of the service and adhere to the code of ethics and professional conduct for all ALAS staff.
- Demonstrates strength, endurance and coordination in a variety of tasks including the use of manual tools to fit and adjust mobility and seating equipment.
- To use fine motor skills to include high levels of dexterity and hand-eye coordination when carrying out adjustment of equipment.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
