**What you’ll do**

The Vehicle Workshop team is part of Chassis Dyno Operations and Engineering Operations (EO10). The team maintains productive workflow from the workshop and delivers test capability to the Powertrain Engineering and Certification teams. The team delivers and supports the engineering teams with vehicle modification, repair and preparation of powertrain and vehicle systems.

Our function is to support the stakeholder teams from Powertrain and PC&D in their objective of achieving ‘timely, quality’ product release.

**The opportunity**

The successful applicant will join a multi skilled team of fitters in delivering the following:
- Daily workshop activities to support requirements for Powertrain / Engineering Operations requests
- Overseas vehicle testing fitter support
- A safe and world class working environment
- Delivering as a member of the Vehicle Workshop Team
- Competent in the use of vehicle software interfaces and the ability to undertake automotive electrical diagnostics and repairs
- Competent in the support of mechanical powertrain related vehicle repairs, updates and modifications.
- Support of overseas vehicle test trips, including working both as a team and individually to provide technical assistance and rectification on test vehicles
- Adopt world class 5S and Lean principles to support daily workshop objectives
- Support of company H&S and environmental requirements, i.e., RA, HAV, COSHH and iPoint regulations

**What you’ll need**

**Essential**:

- Indentured apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 vocational qualification in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering with 3 years relevant technical experience.
- Functional Skills level 2 equivalent in English, Maths and Science.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Excel preferably.
- Excellent knowledge of motor vehicle technology with an up-to-date knowledge of vehicle development, especially new engine types, hybrid, EV and electronics.
- Knowledge of H&S and environmental requirements, i.e. RA, HAV, COSHH and iPoint regulations
- Experience of coordinating activities to meet deliverables, including work assignments.
- Knowledge and experience of installing and using instrumentation/measurement equipment.
- Must have a positive, flexible attitude and enjoy working in a team.
- A clean full driving license, commitment, flexibility and self-motivation.

**Desirable**
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults.
- Experience in Powertrain environment, with a knowledge/understanding of prototype vehicle preparation and specifications; including fault finding, problem analysis and rectification.
