Collect, collate, and report information, maintaining accurate records of all care delivered and ensure compliance with infant feeding standards by monitoring, analysing and acting upon findings. To act as an independent autonomous practitioner providing specialist advice to parents and staff which contributes to assessment, diagnosis, care and treatment. The post holder will also provide education and support to other multi-disciplinary staff and learners within this agenda. Develop and deliver action plans to ensure the Trust and partner organisations can meet the required BFI standards to ensure successful BFI accreditation.

To provide expert leadership with partner organisations such as Family Hubs with the baby Friendly Accreditation process. To act as a link with relevant outside agencies e.g. UK Baby Friendly, National Childbirth Trust and Representatives of Suppliers of Breast Milk Substitutes. Develop and deliver specialised programmes of care including specialist advice clinics for babies and mothers with complex feeding problems using highly developed physical and emotional skills.

To support maternity, NICU and the 0-19 public health teams to increase and improve breastfeeding rates in Tameside and Glossop. To attend maternity/ NICU & 0-19 team meetings to raise awareness, provide updates, specialist advice and support. To lead on the collation of Breastfeeding Data provided by maternity/ NICU and the 0-19 team across Tameside. Provide expert advice to develop and implement action plans to improve/ provide solutions to address issues with performance indicators in collaboration with maternity/ NICU and 0-19 team leaders and challenge practice where appropriate.

Use multiple communication and marketing methods to disseminate health information about breastfeeding, introducing solid foods and infant feeding e.g. social media, press releases, development of health information, training etc. To work alongside the Homestart Breastfeeding Peer Support service in hospital and community to provide seamless care. To actively participate in relevant operational planning groups, service audits and evaluations and provide appropriate reports for service leads.

Work with partners to gather baseline and target data to evaluate services, targets and progression against action plans. Planning and organising Work with a high degree of autonomy, managing own workload within occupational guidelines, referring to Clinical Strategic Lead where appropriate. Prioritise work: manage time effectively by utilising individual skills, knowledge and competencies. Promote and maintain effective comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with local and NMC guidelines for record keeping.

Support the development of EMIS templates. Line manage staff as required. Maintain training databases and spreadsheets.
