**Analyst - European Fund Underwriting**
Townsend is seeking to add an Analyst to its European Fund Underwriting Team.
This role will cover European and UK real estate funds and clubs. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office.

**What the day will look like**
At Townsend our mission is to seek compelling investment opportunities with best-in-class managers in order to deliver quality risk adjusted investment returns for our clients’ real estate portfolios.
Ongoing responsibilities include:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on European institutional real estate investment environment and market issues and trends, in particular as it pertains to real estate investment funds.
- Track, screen, evaluate and monitor European real estate fund management platforms and fund products.
- Work with colleagues on investment underwritings and contribute to the production of underwriting reports.
- Create meeting notes and develop own opinions on the relative merits of real estate funds.
- Provide support for presentations on real estate investments both internally and, as appropriate, to clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with GPs and other industry participants.

Townsend enjoys privileged access to private investment opportunities through its regional and global relationships with real estate investment managers, brokers and agents. In Europe, those relationships exist in many different countries. Our network provideslive market insights and unique deal-flow. The European Underwriting Team’s task is to manage this pipeline and select the best opportunities to recommend to clients and our own portfolio managers. The role will involve travel in Europe and within the UK (conferences,AGMs, diligence meetings).
**Skills and experience that will lead to success**:

- Demonstrable interest in, and base level knowledge of, real estate investing
- An understanding of the factors driving performance of real estate markets and investments including the impact of debt and foreign exchange.
- Confident and enthusiastic ‘self-starter’ with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate constructively with colleagues to complete tasks.
- Detail orientated with strong analytical skills and ability to construct logical arguments.
- Demonstrably strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional manner and confidence speaking in a group and with senior professionals.
- Working familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and ideally, PowerPoint.
- Satisfactory tertiary educational qualifications.
