This role supports delivery of a Category Design Strategy that keeps Tu clothing relevant for all its customers. You will work within the guidelines of the Tu Brand handwriting and have responsibility for delivery of trend and product development for a given category. You will be obsessed with delivering product to surprise, delight and exceed our customers’ expectations, ensuring a consistent approach in all our channels.

**As a Designer you’ll**:

- Responsible for supporting the Senior Designer with development and delivery of Design strategy within a given category, as well as owning your own category development when appropriate.
- Create mood boards and design themes. Support with delivery of Macro and Category Trends.
- Identify new commercial product opportunities that meet category & marketing growth plans. Design commercial & competitive product ranges according to key customer profiles
- Achieve optimum product cost through effective design and engineering of product with suppliers.
- Responsible for development of the product from concept design, briefing to suppliers and through to launch, liaising with Product Technologists and Buyers adhering to critical path.
- Creation of design packs for suppliers, briefing suppliers directly or through colleagues in Asia design & merchandising teams to ensure right first-time samples.
- Ensure delivery of the product from concept through to launch, liaising with the specialists in Buying, Technical, Global Sourcing and Merchandising to ensure that the product meets cost targets, quality standards and that the critical path targets are met.
- Be a champion for sustainability through both how we do things and the product we deliver.

**Our Design team would love to see**:

- Demonstrable experience working across the retail sector, ideally with specialist experience in the Clothing, Jewellery & Watches markets.
- Strong commercial awareness built in a trading retail environment.
- Experience in product design and development in a retail industry with relevant technical knowledge for Clothing and knowledge of manufacturing processes and working with suppliers, including product and cost engineering.
- Computer literate with the ability to use Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to a high standard.
- Show capability to be a strategic thinker who puts the customer at the heart of decision-making, striking the balance between driving business metrics & longer-term objectives.
- Role model positive leadership behaviours, working within a values-driven culture, where all colleagues can be themselves and fulfil their potential.
