This is a technical electrical engineering role based from our offices in Cannock Staffordshire and operates primarily during normal office hours.

Salary band £25k to £29k p.a. is dependant on skill and experience, role would suit experienced wireman however improvers may also be considered.

The role is permanent and full time - usual workdays are Monday to Friday, some weekend and out of hours working may be required.

Moorcroft are Electrotechnical Control, Automation and Calibration specialists.

We offer switchgear, control panel design, assembly, installation, maintenance and system certification across industrial and commercial systems. We work across industry and commercial sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Healthcare, Food and Beverage, Buildings and Construction. Our engineers have a breadth of expertise and can support clients with design, installation, certification and maintenance across the major system manufacturers.

Principle Duties
- Interpret Electrical drawings and wiring schedules.
- Layout and populate control panel components.
- Undertake control panel assembly by hand.
- Work with other engineers and panel shop manager.
- Follow quality requirements.
- Complete project through from build and test to onsite installation.
- Diagnose and test components, assemblies, or systems.
- Modify or upgrade switchgear / control panels located at customer sites throughout the UK.

Purpose of the role
The primary purpose of the role is to undertake assembly of switchgear and control panels. The focus will be in ensuring process steps are followed fully, thereby ensuring efficient delivery of final assembly that meets quality standards. The engineer will work independently with limited supervision and will understand wiring process and final testing requirements. The work is predominately based at our Cannock workshop but will require travel for onsite works.
Person specification:
This role demands a technically competent engineer who takes pride in quality, value and engineering solutions using the latest technology. They will ensure strong team relationships by providing services in a professional manner whilst always maintaining our strong ethos for safety and quality. The engineer will have experience across electrical systems, field wiring and undertaking control panel assemblies.

The person will be organised and reliable, will demonstrate confident communication skills and an ethos in taking ownership of problems. Formal electrical engineering qualifications are essential together with a thorough understanding of the obligations for electrotechnical control panel assembly.
Qualifications/skills/Experience:
General Education

Must be able to communicate effectively and complete written records and reports.

Driving

Full UK driving licence essential.

Electrical Qualifications

HNC (Desirable), C&G, JIB, NVQ recognised certificates essential.

Regulatory industry and safety standards

Experience of BSEN61439-2 Assemblies and BS7671: IET Wiring Regulations essential.

Eligible for UK working

Essential for work permit and security checks.

IT Systems

Able to use PC or phone app for team meetingsnad sharing information.

Experience of CAD drawings desireable.
