The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking to recruit an experienced grants and trusts fundraiser for the full-time permanent role of Head of Grants & Trusts.

This is a dynamic and exciting time for the Trust as it embarks on the delivery of an ambitious new vision as a contemporary museum with global reach and purpose with Shakespeare at the heart of all we do.

As Head of Grants & Trusts you will work closely with the Director of Development to establish a new Development department for the Trust. You will build and lead the Grants and Trusts team in increasing income from statutory and lottery funders, private trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies in the UK and internationally.

You will establish and manage strategic relationships with grant-making bodies including Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and you will play a pivotal role in delivering the step-change in development activity and income needed for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust to achieve its ambitious vision.

To be successful in this role you will have significant fundraising experience with a track record of soliciting gifts and grants from £50,000 to over £1million from a broad range of funders. You will have experience of developing and delivering plans and strategies, have a high degree of financial literacy and business acumen, and knowledge of the UK’s funding environment. You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, possess gravitas and the presence to inspire and motivate others.
