This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join St John's Approved Premises. The role will include working in a residential setting, working with men over the age of 18 coming out of prison, often with mental health issues, substance misuse and assessed as high risk to others. The work is both highly rewarding and challenging at times, working alongside multi agency teams with development and training opportunities. The role includes providing double cover, working on a 12-hour shift pattern which will include working some waking nights but mainly day time hours, some weekends and bank holidays on a ROTA. Full training and induction will be provided and will present a great opportunity to get involved in the Criminal Justice sector.

Full DBS is essential.

**MAIN PURPOSE OF POST**:
To provide double cover for the Approved Premises in accordance with the rota. To ensure smooth running of the Approved Premises and deal with any discipline enforcement issues. To supervise residents, to manage and take charge of the Approved Premises in the absence of Manager/Deputy and communicate as necessary with the on-call Manager. To contribute to the reduction of reoffending and /or the serious harm to self or others.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Responsible for the day to day running of the Approved Premises on a rota basis for the behaviour control of its residents. To ensure compliance with the safe working practices of St Johns and to ensure daily tasks are completed as required i.e. room searches, hostel routine, administration of medication, IT recording etc.

To be allocated small caseload of resident cases to work together to deliver the end to end residency support. Planning and coordination from pre-release, to Induction and arrival, weekly key working, support with Purposeful Activities, liaison with Probation Officers.

To facilitate and coordinate move on planning, recording, management of referrals etc.

Supervision of the provision of meals.

Contribute to and implement individual Residency plans to include key-work sessions. To contribute to three-way meetings, multi-agency meetings and MAPPA meetings as required.

To carry out the SaSP assessment and Care Plan implementation.

To carry out Purposeful Activities as required under the Approved Premises Manual. To ensure accurate timely recording in nDelius, and on nDelius NSI lines to ensure performance is recorded as required.

Contribute to the risk management of residents, liaise as required with partner agencies i.e. Police, Probation and take part in joint meetings. To carry out enforcement instructions as required.

To maintain accurate IT system recording and ensure the sharing of information as appropriate. To prepare written reports as required.

To work as a team and to provide cover for other Senior Support Workers and Support Workers when absent on holiday, sick leave or as necessary.

Contribute to the pro-social environment of the Approved Premises in dealings with residents, staff and visitors.

Work within Approved Premises policies about Health and Safety. To comply with relevant legislation and follow policy and practices. To ensure daily/weekday checks are completed fully.

To promote diversity and anti-discriminatory practice to all service users and staff in line with national and local policies

To demonstrate commitment to user involvement in planning and delivery of services

To work towards compliance and engagement with the Enabling Environment accreditation award compliance and retention.

All of the above to be achieved within Ministry of Justice stated Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in respect of inductions, key-working, purposeful activities.

Such other duties as may be required which are appropriate to the work and are commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.
