Recruiting **Team Leaders** for our children and young people's service in Burton-on-Trent, DE13. This is a full-time, permanent position with windows of opportunity for progression within the company.
- **Location**: DE13 Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire
- **Pay Rates**:From £11.75/Higher rates dependent on experience and qualifications
- **£60.00** per sleep completed - Staff will be required to complete 6-8 sleeps per month (essential)

**Shift Patterns and Hours**:

- 10/12 hour shifts dependent on sleep-in duties
- 7.30am start until 11pm with no sleep
- 7.30am start until 11pm + sleep in - Shift finishes 8am

We are a one of the UK's leading children's residential home providers and we have a specific focus on children who have experienced trauma, EBD, abuse and other complex / challenging behaviours.

Our small family-style homes offer a secure and stable homely environment for children and young people who are healing from adverse childhood experiences.

**The effects of trauma**:
The experience of trauma can have long lasting effects on how children and young people relate to others and can lead to behavioural, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

**Adverse childhood experiences include but not limited to**:

- Physical/Sexual/Emotional abuse
- Physical and Emotional neglect
- Exposure to domestic violence
- Household substance misuse
- Household mental health illness

**We are recruiting** Team Leaders who are warm and compassionate and child-focused and ideally as an experienced Team Leader you will have the following:

- Team Leading or a senior role in Children's Residential Home OR similar
- Working in children residential homes for a minimum of two consecutive years
- Level 3 or Level 4 in children and young peoples workforce (essential)
- DBS Certificate on the update service (preferred)
- Driving License (essential)

**This is a great opportunity** to work with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager of the home to increase your knowledge to support your future career development.

You are required to support and work with the Registered Manager to ensure that the home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose; and promote safeguarding and welfare of our children and young people.

**Responsibilities include**:

- To help our young people achieve their goals and ambitions
- Build and develop relationships with our young people and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home
- Plan and participate fully in a working rota, this will include evenings, sleep inns and weekends
- Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals
- Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session
- Be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns
- Support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings etc
- Experience of working within a children and young adult residential environment
- An understanding of relevant legislation relating to the care of young people
- Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (desirable)
- Manage your team effectively, demonstrate excellent leadership qualities

**The Essential Criteria**:

- Minimum age 21
- Must be able to sleep in at the home when the rota requires
- **Must have** a full UK driving license
- Must be able to work a full shift
