An exciting opportunity to join a thriving and developing hospital Chaplaincy Service. The post holder will lead and manage the chaplaincy team through its next stage of development and beyond. The Chaplaincy Department is responsible for facilitating the pastoral, spiritual and religious care of patients, staff, students, volunteers and visitors of North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, (NCIC), regardless of their faith or belief.

To be the principal point of reference for spiritual and religious care within the Trust. To be the Trust expert, providing professional advice and training on all issues pertaining to spirituality in relation to patient care, supporting all levels of staff providing spiritual care to patients, from the Trust Board to locally-based staff of all professions. To also support volunteers and carers in offering spiritual care.

To be responsible for the strategic organisation, development, implementation and evaluation of the Trust Chaplaincy Services.

To act as key communications / interface link externally between the Trust and all faith communities within the community; local and national spirituality forums; the regional and national organisations for Chaplaincy in healthcare.

To negotiate and implement service-level contracts external to the Trust in relation to the Chaplaincy Team.

To act as the independent advisor and Trust expert on matters relating to raising serious concerns, taking a highly visible role in promoting the processes through which these concerns can be raised.

**Standard Check**: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

**Enhanced Check**: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
