Our client is a British Manufacturing company with a global presence. Being in the top 5 defence organisations in the UK, it is engaged in the development, delivery and support of aerospace and defence systems in the air, on land and at sea.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Project Buyer for an initial 6 month contract based in **Marlow.**

**Purpose of the Role**:
As a Project Buyer you will be working with one of our major programmes. From a procurement perspective, right from the RFQ stage, we are presented with the engineering requirement doc or specification, which we will then go out to quote with.We've got anexisting bank of suppliers we'd go to. There is lots of collaboration with the engineering managers and the team. With the help of engineering project managers, we refine design plans, place orders for suppliers, conduct regular review meetings to ensure we'reon track to hit milestones.There may be design phases ahead of the goods being delivered (which will require overseeing of to gather input from engineers on how the design point is going).

**As a Project Buyer you will be responsible for**:

- Manage the end-to-end supply chain of key items to ensure the best possible quality, cost, delivery and overall supplier reliability for the projects/programmes.
- Manage associated sourcing and tendering processes in accordance with project deliverables.
- Ensure hardware deliveries are scheduled in line with production requirements, reviewing, negotiating and issuing purchase orders and making necessary changes to requirements, schedule and price.
- Early engagement with relevant stakeholders to review and challenge engineering specifications with the purpose of developing appropriate procurement strategies to support the business needs.
- Undertake supplier negotiations to ensure appropriate and cost-effective solutions are achieved.
- Research vendors and develop new and alternative sources of supply.
- Create and maintain UPCs for products.
- Ensure timely disposition and return of any non-conforming supplier material ensuring rapid replenishment to support project need.
- Manage key stakeholder expectations - including suppliers, programme management, engineering and quality team.
- Assisting and supporting design reviews
- Deploy responsible supply chain management practices in accordance with Company policy.
- Significantly contribute to the on-going capability development and performance of the function.
- Proven experience of working in a supply chain organisation.
- Previous experience as a buyer within a manufacturing company is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a buyer within a project setting, working on multiple projects concurrently is an advantage.
- Experiencing of influencing and/or negotiating.
- Technical knowledge of Electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Ability to work to financial and time-sensitive constraints.
- CIPS certification or part certification is an advantage
- Experience working in new product development an advantage
- Teamwork and stakeholder management.
