**1 x fixed term contract**

**1st September 2023 - until 31st August 2024 in the first instance**

**37 hours per week, term-time + 5 days**

**B1 - B3 (point 4-11) + 5 additional days**

**Actual salary (£18,184 to £20,643)**

You will be required to be flexible, adaptable and able to confidently respond to support individual and groups of pupils who require further skilled support to overcome barriers and achieve their potential. You will work under the direction of the Senior Inclusion Support Worker in a combination of planned programmes of targeted support for individual and groups of pupils within classrooms, during break, lunchtimes and interventions and also demonstrate confidence and initiative in responding to need as it may present within the school day.

**We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following**:
**Excellent knowledge or the desire and confidence to acquire such knowledge where needed for**:

- delivering emotional health and literacy support programmes such as ‘Thrive’, ‘ELSA’ and other therapeutic programmes under the guidance, planning and direction of the Senior Inclusion Support Worker
- delivering planned programmes to develop pupils social and resilience strategies under the guidance, planning and direction of the Senior Inclusion Support Worker
- understanding the impact of trauma and having confidence and competence in a range of strategies to successful engage with pupils who are dysregulated and displaying challenging behaviour
- confident use of Team Teach strategies, with a focus on de-escalation
- A colleague who will be an ambassador for the school’s Thrive approach - modelling best practice, developing the skills of colleagues and developing incentives and rewards to encourage positive behaviour
- A professional, committed, conscientious and hard-working approach to the role
- Flexibility and adaptability, including the ability and mindset needed to deal with change are essential to the role
- A nurturing and caring approach to all pupils that demonstrates confidence in deploying a range of strategies to de-escalate behaviour whilst maintain high expectations with a dedication to their responsibility as a behaviour Support Worker
- Care, patience and the skills needed to support and build respectful and meaningful relationships with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs and/or may be going through/have gone through trauma
- The confidence to respond in the moment to challenging behaviour as this may present across school
- Excellent interpersonal skills which they use to effectively liaise with leaders, teachers and support staff
- The ability to engage and build relationships with parents and carers
- A commitment to establishing and sustaining high aspirations for all learners evident in standards of behaviour, engagement in learning and achievement
- Confident literacy, numeracy and communication skills
