**Purpose of the Role**

The Safety Case Coordinator will assist the Building Safety Case Manager to develop, manage and maintain a body of safety related information, which will form the Safety Case, as required by The Building Safety Act 2022, for all higher risk buildings (HRBs) at which Savills have been appointed Accountable Person.

The Safety Case Coordinator will manage the existing Golden Thread of information and source additional information, which will assist the Building Safety Case Manager to draft the associated Safety Case Report.

They will identify gaps in available information, instruct surveys and reports to ensure that the necessary information is available, to demonstrate that major hazards related to fire and structural safety are being managed effectively, therefore reducing the likelihood of major incidents.

Savills, as the appointed Accountable Person will be required to keep the Safety Case up to date as a way of providing themselves and residents, with the assurance that they are managing the fire and structural risks associated with their buildings.

The role will be based in Manchester or London.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and coordinate safety related information, to form the Safety Case and inform the Safety Case Report, required by the Building Safety Act 2022 for buildings at which Savills have been appointed Accountable Person.
- They will continuously review the Golden Thread of Information and other building safety data required to support the building’s Safety Case with assistance of the Safety Case Manager.
- They will register all buildings in scope of the Building Safety Act 2022 with the Building Safety Regulator on behalf of the Principal Accountable Person.
- They will ensure any actions attached to the Building Assessment Certificate are being addressed by relevant parties.
- They will assist the Fire Safety Manager and Fire Safety Assistant to maintain effective scrutiny of the building safety regime, created by the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
- Draft reports as required.
- Undertake regular CPD.
- Any other duties that from time to time may be requested of you to satisfy the role.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Ideally, they will have previously worked in either a facilities management, housing, asset management, data analytics, compliance, construction, health and safety, or building maintenance role.
- They will have strong data management and interpersonal skills.
- They will be pragmatic and reasonable in their approach to all issues of fire and structural safety.
- They will have some knowledge of key fire and building safety guidance and be willing to develop a greater understanding of building safety legislation and guidance, including The Building Safety Act 2022, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, PAS 8673:2022, PAS 9980:2022,
- British Standards, the Approved Documents (B), The Fire Safety in Purpose Built Blocks of Flats guidance and the RICS EWS1 revised criteria.
- They will be able to carry out research and consult relevant guidance.
- They will be able to work with limited supervision, prioritise their workload, and meet deadlines.
- They will understand the importance of seeking support from colleagues when required.
- They will understand the service and maintenance requirements and timescales associated with key fire safety equipment, such as fire alarm and detection systems, EAS, emergency lighting, automatic opening smoke ventilation, dry/wet risers, firefighting equipment and passenger lifts.
- They will have strong communications skills, be approachable and be able to form and develop effective professional relationships with stakeholders, colleagues and clients, including the Fire and Rescue Service and the Building Safety Regulator.
- They will have experience of and be able to effectively utilise of Microsoft office software.
