If you are then an excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Production Shift Supervisor to join a leading FMCG/Animal Feed manufacturing business. You will work a continental shift pattern based on 24/7 working, which is 4 x 12-hour shifts days/nights on, followed by 4 days off.

Dugdale Nutrition Ltd is a modern family business, leading the UK’s ruminant sector by delivering outstanding products, people, partnerships and performance. We currently have two production facilities based in Clitheroe and Speke that run 24/7.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Assistant Production Manager/Production Manager, your duties will include but not limited to;
- To attend Health and Safety Committee Meeting and Operations and Quality & Feed Safety Meeting if on shift during a planned meeting, communicate feedback to fellow supervisors and team members to ensure issues are communicated.
- Make informed decisions regarding when and who to contact if an issue arises, e.g. Maintenance, Transport Manager, DSL, Duty Manager etc.
- Awareness of Environmental Management System and its implementation.
- Be able to implement the Company’s emergency plan if needed.
- Ensure that you and your team adhere to the companies Health and Safety policy including wearing the correct PPE while on site at all times.
- Responsible for intake and out loading when main office is not manned.
- Training and mentoring of production staff to advance their knowledge.
- Continuous monitoring of the feed production process using our DSL control system to achieve daily targets.
- Adhere to quality standards in order reach customer quality expectations as dictated by the Quality and Feed Safety system
- Weighments by hand of minerals and additives dictated by each individual formulation.
- Setting of raw material routing for incoming deliveries and recording on the live spread sheet along with updating the stock levels in DSL.
- Transferring Raw Materials from the blend shed into the bulk intakes using loading shovel.
- Loading of finished feed vehicles and completing documentation.
- Completion of daily tasks to include cleaning and organising of production areas.
- Maintenance and replacement of consumable items associated with the production process such as dies, rollers, screens and beaters along with daily adjustments and lubrication of machines
- Ensure that batch details of Raw materials are recorded using the batch record document.
- Ensure that all machines are lubricated and cleaned out on a daily basis and recorded on the weekly production log.
- To use the plan 4 feed production programme for the planning of production.
- To complete the SharePoint report at the start of every shift to communicate the progress of production to other departments, Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

Person Specification

Essential:

- Previous experience in milling and agricultural feed.
- Experience of production systems and procedures.
- Able to work on own initiative and demonstrate forward planning.
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to high health, safety and environmental standards
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills in order to complete daily tasks
- Punctuality is key to the role being part of such a small team.
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility during our seasonal production demands.

Desirable:

- FLT and telehandler experience preferred but not essential as onsite training can be provided
