**Job summary**:
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. DWP Estates Directorate are accountable for the delivery of all aspects of real estate services and the work we do is critical in ensuring the vital work that the Department undertakes is enabled effectively. The DWP commercial estate is the largest within Government and our diverse national property portfolio reflects this scale. It is a unique mix ranging from modern corporate centres, multi-occupied Service Centres, to its frontline high street services.

We are responsible for the Department’s 900+ workplaces, that provide workplaces for 90,000 employees and a UK wide presence for all those that visit us. Ultimately, the Department relies on us to provide safe and secure buildings that are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the business.

The work you will be undertaking is therefore crucial in us meeting the needs of all those who use our services.

As a key role within the newly created Cost and Supplier Performance Management Department, this role will lead the establishment of Supply Chain Management capability within DWP Estates, as part of implementing Estates new operating model. This senior role will be responsible developing and leading the Estates’ Supply Chain Management strategy, governance and supplier performance management to drive value and commercial relationships across Estates supply chain partners. Leading a team of Supply Chain Managers embedded across Estates, this role will ensure high standards and a strategic and consistent approach to supply chain cost and performance management. This role will take ownership of building strategic relationships with the DWP Estates’ supply chain partners to add value, and driving innovation and continuous improvement.

**Job description**:
**Key accountabilities**

***Strategy and Governance**
- Responsible for the design, development and implementation of the Estates’ Supplier Performance Management framework for the wider Estates supply chain partners, including the end to end approach of how performance and relationship management will be monitored through measurable metrics and incorporating required values and behaviours for the supply chain.
- Providing support to the Head of Estates Cost and Supplier Performance Management, build expertise across the Estates supply chain partners to develop supply chain management strategy, providing strategic advice to Estates on areas such as finance, risk, innovation etc. to ensure the supply chain is operating efficiently.
- Define values and behaviours for the supply chain and how the relationship should be managed. Implement processes, procedures and tools which add value to DWP Estates by reducing costs, mitigating risk and improving service through effective management of suppliers, to support creation of supply chain relationships which are aligned to values of quality, safety and sustainability.
- Lead a team of Supply Chain Managers through direct and matrix management, promoting alignment to Estates’ supply chain management framework ensuring consistent value and behaviours.
- Govern and ensure Estates Control Framework is effectively embedded and articulated across DWP’s supply chain partners.
- Working closely with Estates cost management team, oversee the management of the DWP supply chain budget in accordance with industry standards.

***Performance Management**
- Lead initiatives to maximise commercial effectiveness of the Estates’ Management Information and Performance reporting, to ensure it allows critical analysis of supply chain performance. Work with the Estates stakeholders to ensure Estates’ Management Information and Performance reporting articulates DWP Estates’ business requirements.
- Govern and oversee the performance monitoring of supply chain, determining audit requirements, ensuring all performance audits are carried out in line with schedule and detailed reports
