Do you have the skills, knowledge and experience to design a structure - analysing its strength, modelling the design in a CAD package and then liaising with manufacturers to ensure it can be made to the right time and cost? Are you looking for variety and a challenge, where every project is different and moves quickly from a clean sheet of paper to a physical prototype? If so, you are just the person we need to design our sophisticated wind tunnel models. Do you want access to the latest 3D printing technology?

It’s here at Airbus in Filton that we are privileged to carry out this work, designing and manufacturing wind tunnel models to be tested both at Airbus and external wind tunnels. We are proud of our unique legacy of testing every aircraft developed in Filton from Concorde through to the latest A350 XWB. You may come from an aerospace background already but, if not, don’t let this stop you - we love to embrace ideas from other industries too.

**HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM**
- You will design and produce drawings for wind tunnel models, including ancillary items in Catia V5.
- You will carry out the structural analysis of wind tunnel models in the Catia Elfini package.
- You will design wind tunnel models to ensure they can be easily manufactured and assembled, liaising closely with suppliers to ensure they can deliver.
- You will enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, international team to share ideas and come up with novel solutions.
- You will love developing your own technical know-how and relish new, bigger challenges or problems to solve.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Hands on design experience in Catia V5 including basic Surfacing skills.
- Knowledge of design for manufacture of metallic structures.
- Structural analysis skills, both via Finite Element Analysis (ideally Catia Elfini albeit not essential) and through hand calculations and willingness to develop.
