Materials Planner/buyer

**Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer with an exciting future ahead Due to growth of the business they are looking to employ an experienced Materials Planner/Buyer on a permanent basis.**

**Duties will be as follows:

- **
- Work across the business and manage the MPS to ensure the production planning and purchasing requirements are aligned to fulfil customer demand.
- Purchase relevant parts and equipment to meet production and site requirements using appropriate systems and business processes.
- Effectively manage the flow of materials with the suppliers in line with site requirements
- Expedite material shortages to ensure no production downtime.
- Chase up outstanding requisitions, order confirmations, acknowledgements and correspondence
- Ensuring on time and in full deliveries against contracted requirements
- Deal with supply related queries from both site and Suppliers
- Arrange for Suppliers to be set up on internal systems
- Ensuring all the materials and service comply with Health and Safety regulations and standards.
- Undertake any other duties of which the knowledge, skills and experience required fall within a post holder’s expected capability and commensurate with the post holder’s position within the company.

**Education/Qualifications Required**:

- HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline would be advantageous

A relevant professional institution e.g., Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS**Experience Required**:

- 3-5 years in a similar manufacturing environment
- An appreciation of electro/mechanical components used in the manufacture of electric motors and power electronics would be advantageous.
- Preferably from an automotive background.
- Working knowledge of MRP\ERP systems (ideally E-Max) and expediting.
- Supply chain management experience and the ability to influence situations to deliver the correct outcomes for the business.
- Manufacturing planning experience for a range of products and components.
- A working understanding of best practice material management processes such as JIT, Kanban, Heijunka, etc

**Skills & Attributes Required**:

- Ability to read, interpret and deploy technical specifications / drawings
- Experience in the procurement of complex machined parts
- Competent user of ERP systems & able to follow BOM structures
- Well-developed interpersonal and organisation skills
- Must be computer literate and familiar with MS Office 365 suite and have an intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel and other web-based systems
- Commercial awareness and having highest levels of integrity
- Able to prioritise workload and work to deadline
- Self-motivated, creative and able to work on own initiative and to demanding timescales
- Providing good quality output in a fast-moving and fluid environment
