We have a great opportunity for Cost Controller to join our highly successful Energy business; primarily supporting our solar farm projects.
Bouygues Energies & Services design, install and commission large scale solar PV farms for our clients. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint. It also means they can provide off-grid power in remote areas that can be sold back to the grid or used locally at a cheaper price than grid-supplied energy.
**Key Activities**
- Will be required to highlight cost areas of concern and suggesting areas of improvement
- Must maintain the comprehensive accessible registers of financial approvals, variations and change orders
- Ensure that all cost related work is in compliance with commitment(s) and verification of claims from
suppliers/agencies/sub-contractors
- Liaise with the Leads with regards to establishing monthly valuation of work done, goods received and services rendered for invoice preparation and verification
- Prepare/assist timely and detailed reports on financial performance on monthly (KPI production), quarterly and annual basis
- Forecast, scheduling and monitoring to ensure expenditures are kept within planned monthly budget and at any given point of time
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure their proposals will work
- Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time
- Perform risk, value management and cost control during construction
- Prepare a tender analysis spreadsheet and install the prices with sufficient detail to enable contract review
**Skills, qualifications, and experience**
- Numerical and data analysis skills
- A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
- IT skills and the ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
- Project management skills
- Good commercial awareness
- Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes materials, business and legal matters
- Experience gained in a similar role, preferably in the Building Services or Construction sector
