As an OT assistant, you will be working alongside an experienced team of OT colleagues to provide a range of interventions within the community. You will have the opportunity to take on your own caseload of service users. There are also exciting opportunities to explore the OT apprenticeship pathway in keeping with continued professional development goals.

This role will also involve communicating closely with MDT colleagues, families and carers, secondary and voluntary sector agencies to encourage a meaningful routine and support service users to manage their health and wellbeing.

The main duties of this role include;
- Completing initial assessments with service users and developing OT intervention plans with support from OT team
- Managing a caseload of service users
- Liaising with service users, carers, MDT, other healthcare teams and voluntary/charitable agencies on behalf of the service user and to create community links
- Identify and provide necessary equipment for the service users
- Attending in service training and other relevant clinical meetings
- Contributing to continued service and professional development

As part of this role, you will need to;
- Provide culturally competent practice in all interactions with patients and in the preparation and design of all clinical intervention
- Engage in regular reflection regarding equality, diversity and inclusion issues related to clinical practice and attend culturally diverse CPD opportunities
- During appraisal engage in reflection about equality, diversity and inclusion issues relevant to clinical practice, the profession or the team.
- Be part of a supportive staff culture of inclusion; recognising the needs and backgrounds of colleagues and playing their part in positively embracing difference within the team
- Support students as when required with support from the OT
- Participate in 7 day work
