Northampton, United Kingdom Northamptonshire Children's Trust Full time

About the roleNorthamptonshire Youth Offending Service is looking to recruit a case manager into the West Post Court team. This is a 18 month fixed term posts based in Northampton. The service is countywide, and you might be required to work anywhere within the county.
The requirements of the post are that you need to have a professional qualification, such as being a qualified Youth Worker, Social Worker, Teacher, Probation Officer, Nurse, or equivalent, or have a relevant degree qualification and 3 or more years relevant experience.
What will you be doing? You will be experienced in undertaking assessments with children and young people, writing reports and designing/delivering interventions and, if you have experience of working in a Youth Offending Service, so much the better. You will be a confident and credible practitioner with children and young people, their parents/carers, victims of crime, professional colleagues and in formal environments such as the Youth and Crown Court.
You will understand that the ability to motivate children & young people, their parents & carers, and other workers are all critical to giving you the opportunity to put your knowledge and experience to good use. Working in the community, you will see clients both in our offices and in various community venues, including their own homes. You will also be expected to engage with young people whilst in custodial establishments. Whatever the environment, you will be skilled at building and sustaining professional relationships swiftly to maximise the impact of your work.
The Youth Offending Service is a highly successful statutory partnership which is required to reduce the offending of children and young people; reduce the incidence of harm to potential victims; repair existing harm where possible and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people with whom we work. You must be able to identify and act upon risks, and do so swiftly when required.
You will work in partnership with colleagues inside and outside the YOS. You will be expected to offer a range of approaches to your work, which are responsive to the needs of the individuals. The YOS client group can live chaotic lifestyles, and your persistence and determination will be important to your ability to engage, and re-engage with those who need you most.
If you can meet these challenges, we’d love to meet you.
