Our UK payroll is managed in-house, leveraging third-party software, and you will collaborate closely with the broader HR team to ensure legal compliance and process efficiency in your daily tasks.

In addition to supporting the UK payroll, you will assist with payroll activities in some of our overseas territories, including Ireland, South Africa, and the UAE. This role will involve liaising with relevant third-party payroll providers and ensuring effective communication to meet monthly deadlines.
Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is preferred but not essential.

**Location**
You'll be based at our Schroders Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham’s main line train station.
**The Team**
Join a team of experienced, dedicated, and supportive payroll professionals who, as part of the HR Operations group, consistently deliver exceptional service to our employees.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Processing payroll for approximately 3,700 UK employees, directors, and expats
- Involvement in all aspects of monthly and annual payroll cycles
- Input and check payroll data
- Investigate and resolve payroll errors
- Respond to queries from employees, HR, Finance, and external parties
- Raise third party payments and support the invoicing process
- Support annual audit processes and monthly pension contribution reconciliations
- Implement changes due to legislation or internal process updates
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Support ad hoc HR projects and provide reporting as required
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Experience of UK payrolls, ideally within the financial services industry
- Understanding of the payroll function
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
**Desired Skills and Experience**
- Experience with SDWorx
- Knowledge of payroll legislation, regulations, and best practice principles
- Some international payroll experience/knowledge
- Experience with deferred compensation awards
- Experience of improving processes for effectiveness and efficiency
- Ability to interpret changes in legislation and incorporate these into processes
