Minehead Community Hospital - Band 2 Facilities Service Assistant

Are you looking to work in a fantastic rural location?

Minehead Hospital currently has a 25 hr vacancy for a Facilities Service Assistant to join our friendly team.

The working shift will vary between07.00am-19:00hbut please note that these hours may change on occasion to fit the needs of the service and will include working on public holidays & weekends as needed.

Minehead Hospital has an inpatient ward, outpatient and therapy departments, day surgery, MIU as well as offices.

You will work as part of a team and help in the day to day duties that are required within the hospital - working to a high standard as a team player with a flexible approach to your work.

You will ensure that Health & Safety requirements are always met following Trust policies and procedures.

Full Training will be given for all roles.

You will work closely with the Facilities Team Leader & Housekeeper, other housekeeping & catering staff, and where applicable some Heads of Departments.

Main duties of the role will be portering, with the occasional cleaning/catering.

**The post holder will be require to**:

- Undertake fault finding on equipment used and adapt to change in cleaning schedules.
- Participate in training as directed by the Facilities Team Leader - including cleaning techniques and mandatory training eg. Fire Safety, Moving & Handing, COSHH and Infection Control.
- Work alongside and support Apprentices/Work Experience with their daily duties using a buddy system, ensuring that they fully understand all Health and Safety aspects of the role, Trust policies and procedures.
- Other specific duties will be discussed at interview to meet service requirements.

**Main duties**:

- Working as part of a team or alone maintaining standards
- Assist as necessary in the delivery of hot/cold snacks and beverages as requested
- Ensure that all equipment is stored in a safe manner and kept in a clean condition reporting any defects/failures to the Housekeeper or Facilities Team Leader.
- Complete monitoring sheets, obtaining electronic copies using IT as required.
