Our client is a profitable B2B owner-managed business based in Shepton Mallet.

They are in a strong financial position and are looking to recruit an insightful and hands-on **Head of Finance** who will play a pivotal role in transforming the finance department and creating a solid platform for their future growth.

**Head of Finance - The Role**

This is an influential role critical to the success of the organisation. As such, you’ll play a key part in leading and shaping the finance team, helping to improve financial processes and reporting and ultimately providing sound financial advice to the SLT.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Develop the finance team and proactively improve the financial processes;
- Prepare the monthly management accounts pack and provide insightful analysis;
- Produce and monitor forecasts and budgets;
- Monitor cash and prepare cash flow forecasts;
- Manage capital expenditure;
- Oversee the AR and AP functions;
- Provide strategic financial support to the Managing Director;
- Carry out financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making;
- Oversee the submission of VAT returns and payroll;
- Ensure all statutory financial compliance requirements are met;
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects.

**The Successful Applicant**

As Head of Finance, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA) with experience working in high-growth SMEs.

**Ideally, you will demonstrate**:

- A diligent, problem-solving and proactive attitude - prepared to be into the detail of the accounts as well as assisting with strategic planning;
- Experience in evaluating & migrating accounting systems desirable;
- Experience in developing systems to improve reporting requirements;
- Exceptional analytical, presentation and Excel skills;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Strong commercial acumen;
- A pragmatic, self-motivated and proactive mindset.
