Job Title: Youth Work Co-ordinator - positive activities

Location: Newham

Responsible to: Youth & Community Development Manager

**Salary**: £27,500 - £31,000pa (full time 36 hours) depending on qualifications & experience

**Job Summary**:
The post holder will be responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of engaging and inclusive positive activities for children and young people aged 9yrs - 19yrs (25yrs with SEND) including holiday programmes, trips and residentials.

**Purpose of the Job**:
1. To support young people, particularly those who are vulnerable and in targeted localities of need, by providing high quality informal education, preventative and early intervention opportunities, creating activities that enhance the personal and social skills development of young people.

2. To enable young people to make informed decisions, have a place in their community and ultimately, to reach their potential and make a successful transition to adulthood.

**Main Areas of Responsibility**:
3. To work with young people delivering group and individual youth work activities during the daytime, in the evenings and on residentials, developing and using a planned youth work curriculum programme.

4. Initiate, plan, deliver and evaluate informal education opportunities to develop young people’s personal and social skills, which result in recordable outcomes in line with the service priorities and contract targets.

5. Line and performance manage unqualified and trainee youth support workers and volunteers, to plan, deliver and evaluate youth work, with groups and individuals.

6. Work in partnership with other organisations and other relevant agencies to enhance our youth offer to young people, as directed by the youth work manager.

7. Establish contact and develop positive and trusted relationships with young people through a variety of youth work engagement methods, styles and in different settings, ensuring that the staff you manage do the same.

8. Provide individual support to identified young people, recording the impact of your work and the outcomes achieved.

9. Ensure that effective needs analysis, including any relevant assessments, are completed and acted on so that the needs of young people are identified and met.

10. Monitor, evaluate and record youth work practice using relevant systems, evaluation and planning process. This includes providing written reports on the progress of specific areas of work.

11. Lead on session briefings, de-briefings, evaluations and recordings.

12. Assist in the organisation of staff meetings and engage in meetings, forums and events as required.

13. Ensure that all delivery that you are responsible for complies with all health and safety and safeguarding requirements.

14. Ensure the implementation of REIN’s policies and procedures, with safeguarding at the forefront, in delivering youth work activities, projects and programmes.

15. Ensure that comprehensive and quality supervision and Performance Management and Development Scheme processes are systematically provided for staff who you may supervise.

16. Ensure that you and the staff you manage attend regular supervision and required Performance Management meetings and complete required initial and ongoing training.

**Salary**: £27,500.00-£31,000.00 per year
