Specification Writer

**Full Time or Part Time Applications will be considered**

We are looking for a Product Specifications Technologist / Specification Writer with a strong eye for detail, accuracy and numerical ability. You will be highly organised, computer literate with experience of working in a food manufacturing environment.

**Job duties include**:

- Working closely with various departments including Marketing, Production, Purchasing and Quality
- Responsible for the creation, execution and evaluation of Finished Product Specifications for imported pet toys and accessories
- Internal specifications for wet, dry and semi moist complete and complementary pet food
- Packaging specifications
- Extruded product specifications
- Allocation of barcodes, codes for raw materials and packaging
- Responsible for master data, setting up item cards and bill of materials on Microsoft NAV
- Setting up recipe cards and digital traceability on wet and semi moist pet food
- Investigations of quality issues and traceability of products

**Essential skills and experiences**:

- Food safety qualification/s, understanding of HACCP principles
- Experience and understanding of food manufacturing
- Logical, analytical and organized
- Able to work on your own initiative to strict deadlines
- IT Literate and comfortable with using systems
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is desirable.
- Fluent English verbal and written communication skills
- A self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic can-do attitude.
