1 To ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, the safety of all spectators, stadium staff and staff attending any event held at the Stadium in accordance with the requirements of the Sheffield Sports Stadium’s Safety Policy, the Safety Certificate and any relevant or applicable legislation.

2 To undertake the instructions of the Safety Officer or his/her Deputy and any Safety Steward Supervisor.

**The Safety Steward key duties are;-**

Safety Stewards are at all times responsible for the safety and comfort of spectators attending events at the Stadium.
- To ensure they report for duty on time, adhere to the Stadium dress code, clock in correctly and receive a position at which they are required to work for that event.
- Having received that position, the Steward must attend a pre-event briefing taken by the Deputy Safety Officer/Safety Steward Supervisor.
- The Steward must ensure before leaving the briefing there are no doubts or uncertainty of what is required of the Steward.
- Greet and direct customers both on Turnstiles/car park and track side
- Report to the Safety Officer or Deputy Safety Officer any damage or defect which is likely to pose a threat to spectator safety e.g. a damaged seat or barrier.
- Assist in the prevention of Track invasion.
- Assist as required in the evacuation of the Stadium.
- Ensure that emergency exits are kept clear.
- Know the location of the first aid room and any first aid equipment kept elsewhere in the Stadium
- Be fully conversant with any methods or signals used to alert staff that an emergency has arisen.
- Be capable of recognising potential fire hazards and suspect packages, reporting such findings immediately to the Safety Officer.
- Comply promptly with any instruction given in an emergency by the Safety Officer, Police Officer or other emergency services
- Must attend training and staff meetings as required.

This role requires good customer service skills preferably from experience within a customer facing role.

Hours - As and when required, approx 15 per week.

Rate - national living wage
