The Apprentice will work in the administrative support service within the NHS, focusing on delivery of Cancer Data and Targets. your administration duties will support departmental targets and ensures compliance, you will be enrolled on the Business Administration Apprenticeship level 3 with an overlay for Cancer Care with PMA.

**What will the apprentice be doing?**

An administrative support service within the NHS, focusing on delivery of Cancer Data and Targets. To carry out administration duties in a manner that supports departmental targets and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures.

To achieve knowledge and use internal IT systems e.g. Microsoft, Outlook, Microsoft word, MS Teams, ESR, ERS, PAS and ICE.

The job description and person specification are an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The post holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager. The full job description and person specification must be met within 16 months.

The job description and person specification may be reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the changing needs of the Department and the Organisation.

Ensure that all complaints, comments, and suggestions are dealt with appropriately, in accordance with policy, resolving where possible and escalating to appropriate manager as required.
- Able to work on own initiative, prioritising work, within defined policies and procedures to set timescales
- Have a flexible/adaptable approach to their work to meet various deadlines
- Responsible for organising meetings for the department and planning any administrative work as required
- Demonstrate office systems and department requirements to new starters
- Inputting into, monitoring and printing reports from computerised systems
- The post holder will ensure the proper use of the Trust’s resources such as stationery, telephone usage, photocopying and other consumables, ensuring mínimal waste and mínimal cost
- To maintain the confidentiality of the Trust in respect of patient and staff information obtained, at all times, and use such information only as authorised for specific purposes. Report any concerns about the use of such information to the senior manager

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

The successful apprentice will be enrolled on the Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3 with Cancer Care embedded with PMA Ltd.

Functional skills in maths and English (if required).

Training from the employer:

- In house training on NHS systems and visual/audio learning.

Internal Mandatory training

**Annual wage**

£10,296 to £20,319 a year

Age 16 to 17 £10.325 per annum

Age 18 to 20 £14,645 per annum

Age 21 to 22 £19,906 per annum

Age 21 and over £20,375 per annum

**Working week**

Monday to Friday, core hours are 9-5 but potential to work 8-4 on a pre-planned Rota basis.

Total hours per week: 37.5 hours a week
